Cinderella

There was once a king who had a beautiful daughter named Cinderella. After her mother died, her father married another woman with two daughters. The stepmother and her daughters treated Cinderella very badly; they made her wear old clothes and do all the work in the kitchen.

One day, the king held a grand ball and invited all the young women in the country. Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters were invited, but Cinderella was left behind to do chores. She sat on the stairs crying.

Suddenly, an fairy appeared! With a wave of her wand, she turned Cinderella into a beautiful princess wearing fine clothes and gave her a pair of glass slippers. The fairy warned her to be home before midnight, or the magic would disappear.

At the ball, the prince fell in love with Cinderella and danced with her until late at night. Just as the clock struck twelve, Cinderella hurried home, losing one of her glass slippers along the way.

The next day, the prince traveled around the kingdom looking for the owner of the slipper. Finally, he came to Cinderella's house. Her stepmother tried to stop her from trying on the shoe, but it fit Cinderella perfectly.

The prince proposed to Cinderella, and they lived happily ever after. The wicked stepmother and stepsisters also learned their lesson.
