Scene 1: The Classroom – Morning
(The classroom is filled with students sitting at their desks. Emma and Tom are chatting quietly. Liam enters, looking around nervously.)
Emma: (whispering)
Hey, Tom, did you finish the reading?
Tom:
Not really. I was too busy watching that cat video again.
Emma:
You’re hopeless. You know we have a quiz today.
Tom:
Relax, Em. I’ll just wing it like always.
(Ms. Johnson walks in, holding a stack of papers. The class goes quiet.)
Ms. Johnson:
Good morning, everyone. I hope you’ve all done the assigned reading for today. We’ll be discussing The Great Gatsby.
Emma:
(whispers to Tom)
Oh no… she’s serious today.
Tom:
Yeah, maybe she finally got tired of our excuses.
(Liam sits down beside Emma, looking uneasy.)
Liam:
Hi… um… do you think I can borrow your notes? I’m a bit lost.
Emma:
Sure! Here. Don’t worry, it’s not that bad. Just try to keep up.
Liam:
Thanks. I’m new here, so I’m still getting used to everything.
Emma:
Welcome to the club. It gets better after a while.
Scene 2: The Library – Afternoon
(Emma and Tom are studying in the library. Liam joins them, carrying a book.)
Tom:
So, Liam, how’s your first week going?
Liam:
It’s okay. I’m still trying to find my way around. But I feel more comfortable now.
Emma:
That’s great! You should come to the study group next week. We meet every Thursday.
Liam:
I’d like that. Thanks for inviting me.
Tom:
No problem. We need more people. Plus, someone has to keep Emma from falling asleep during lectures.
Emma:
Hey! That was one time!
Liam:
(laughs)
You two are funny. I like it.
Scene 3: The Cafeteria – Evening
(The group is sitting together, eating lunch. The conversation is light and easy.)
Tom:
So, Liam, what are you majoring in?
Liam:
I’m studying psychology. I want to help people understand themselves better.
Emma:
That’s amazing. I’m majoring in literature. I love stories and how they shape us.
Tom:
And I’m majoring in… well, I haven’t decided yet. I’m still figuring things out.
Liam:
That’s okay. Everyone starts somewhere.
Ms. Johnson:
(entering the cafeteria)
Excuse me, Emma, can I talk to you for a moment?
Emma:
Of course, Professor.
(Emma leaves the table, looking a little nervous.)
Tom:
She probably wants to talk about your essay.
Liam:
Do you think she’s angry?
Tom:
Not sure. But if she’s talking to her, it might be good news.
Scene 4: The Classroom – Next Day
(The class is back in session. Emma returns, looking relieved.)
Ms. Johnson:
Emma, I read your essay. It was very thoughtful and well-written. You did a great job.
Emma:
Thank you, Professor. I tried my best.
Tom:
(laughing)
See? Told you it would be fine.
Liam:
You’re doing great, Emma. Keep it up.
Emma:
Thanks, guys. I couldn’t have done it without you.
(The group smiles, feeling proud of each other.)
Narrator (Voiceover):
Sometimes life feels overwhelming, but with friends by your side, even the hardest days can turn into something beautiful.
